High-impact, effective charities I have been supporting for years

I focus my giving on organisations that are backed by strong evidence and rigorous evaluation, with the aim of maximising the impact of each pound donated. Research by groups such as GiveWell and the broader Effective Altruism community suggests that the difference in impact between charities can be very large, with some interventions achieving significantly more per unit of funding than others. This has led me to support a mix of highly cost-effective global health programmes (such as the GiveWell Top Charities Fund, Against Malaria Foundation, Malaria Consortium, and GiveDirectly), alongside organisations working on longer-term or systemic challenges like Clean Air Task Force and animal welfare through EA Funds. To a lesser degree, I also continue to support more traditional causes, including Cancer Research and Médecins Sans Frontières, but overall my approach is to prioritise opportunities where careful analysis suggests that additional funding can do the most good.
